I keep "Patterns for Improvisation" by Oliver Nelson on my music stand. That's pretty much what being a field engineer is: situational awareness and habitual creativity with the goal of a harmonious result. I'm here to make sure you don't stay up all night solving technical problems that get in the way of your job, because, well, that's my job. Let's keep technology working with us, not against us.
